GCSE Biology Topic 7: Food Chains and Trophic Levels
For mixed ability groups I suggest splitting this into two lessons. In this GCSE Biology Topic 7: Food Chains and Trophic Levels lesson pupils will use key vocabulary to describe food chains, explain predator prey cycles and describe the knock-on effects of changing one population of organisms in a food web.
The slides include extension questions, and students can choose from a variety of different tasks.
This lesson includes:
- Title slide with learning objectives
- A starter activity
- Group reading (literacy)
- Comprehension questions
- Task boxes
- Handout sheet task
- Predator-Prey cycles exercise
- Order the steps (predator-prey cycles)
- Answer slides included for self-assessment
- Suitable for remote, online, distance learning
- Suitable for supply teaching and home learning. This activity is straightforward and requires no specialist expertise. Discussion/extension answers are in the ppt notes.
