In this GCSE Biology Topic 4: Metabolism lesson pupils will define the word metabolism and give some examples of metabolic reactions. They will explain the role of enzymes in metabolism and describe how metabolic processes produce waste products and how these waste products are dealt with. The slides include extension questions, and students can choose from a variety of different tasks.

This activity is straightforward and requires no specialist expertise, except for knowledge of the term ‘pathogen’, which refers to a microorganism that causes disease (germs).
